Mission
Protect
and improve the quality of life in our neighborhood.
Goals
I.
Attend Neighborhood Advisory Group (NAG) meetings
held the third Monday of the month at the Hart Senior
Center at 6:00 p.m.
II.
Participate in The Sacramento Preservation Roundtable,
a public forum sponsored by Sacramento Bungalow
Heritage Association (SBHA) and Sacramento Old City
Association (SOCA). The Preservation Roundtable
identifies preservation issues and problems and
works to create solutions.
III.
Obtain preservation district status for the Newton
Booth & Alhambra Triangle Neighborhoods. Newton
Booth is a “proposed” preservation district.
IV.
Once preservation status has been obtained, ensure
new buildings and renovations comply with the Preservation
Ordinance.
V.
Support the vision of the R Street and Alhambra
Corridor Special Planning Districts. Participate
in development reviews for projects in the Broadway
Corridor.
VI.
Address issues concerning slum lords, fainted ladies.
VII.
Address the issues of crime, traffic, graffiti,
noise, public safety.
VIII.
Study the feasibility of creating open spaces. Develop
a neighborhood beautification plan.
IX.
Maintain & improve walkability and accommodation
for bicycles.
X.
Foster a sense of neighborhood and community pride.
